Fall is in full swing and that means cooler weather and more time outside! We know how stir crazy the kiddos can get after being at school all day! They just want to go ride their bikes and play basketball outside, but then they get tired of doing the same old thing. That’s when it’s time to load up the family and go do some fun activities and festivals! We have complied a list of some of our favorite Fall Family Events to do in the Baton Rouge and surrounding areas! These activities are all kid friendly, inexpensive (some even being free!), and fun activities that are sure to bring the family together this fall season!
The 6th Annual Baton Rouge Halloween Parade takes place in downtown Baton Rouge on Saturday, October 29th at 2 PM – rain or shine! Donations to the GBR Food Bank will be collected throughout the parade. To view all about the parade, click here!
The Jefferson United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch is its largest fundraiser with the proceeds going to serve local missions and youth mission trips! Storytelling, cake walks, pumpkin decorating, games and trick-or-treating are some of the events kids will be able to participate in while on the museum grounds! This is a great event that will get the entire family involved!
Businesses along Main Street in Zachary and surrounding areas downtown invite artists to display their fine art to sell and open their doors to the public for approximately 3 hours on the Friday night of the event. There will be live music at various locations throughout the route as well! The purpose of Fall Art Crawl is to stimulate economic growth in our local businesses, promote the sales of local artists, and raise funds for year-round arts programming. Although this event is in Zachary, we wanted to include it because it supports locals throughout the area!
